This four-part class will offer the basics of producing a studio-based production such as a talk show, game show, interview program or other multi-camera productions.  You’ll be exposed to the process of generating ideas, content and understanding the studio requirements to execute and record the program including camera angles, audio requirements, roll-in of video and audio elements and how to effectively produce and direct your studio based shows.  Each participant will have the opportunity to create and record their own concept which will then be played back to the group for critique and discussion.  The possibility exists for directing an outside production presented by Seacoast Repertory Theatre – however, details are still being worked out at this time.  More information as it is confirmed.

This class is perfect for the beginner as well as a refresher course for anyone who has produced studio shows in the past and needs more guided, hands-on exposure to the studio to hone their skills.  Participants will serve as crew for each other’s projects and in this way, you’ll learn the production process from a number of different angles and disciplines.

Shooting documentary, narrative stories, beauty footage or any content on location, away from the confines of a studio controlled situation has it’s own special considerations.  The Single Camera Field Production course offered by PPMtv will introduce you to the cameras, audio equipment, lights and tricks of the trade you’ll need to be successful in capturing high quality content wherever you want.  This 3 night class is designed to offer answers to specific questions and help you avoid the pitfalls of shooting out of doors or in a remote location.  Each participant will tackle a format of production that interests them the most be it interview, news gathering, commercial production or any other form that requires single camera techniques.  The class will discuss recording formats for both audio and video, camera angles and manipulation, hand-held camera work and tripod capture, picture composition as well as taking into consideration the edit of your project before you push the record button.

This class is perfect for the beginner as well as a refresher course for anyone who has shot single-camera projects in the past and needs more guided, hands-on exposure to fieldwork in order to hone their skills. Participants will serve as crew for each other’s projects and in this way, you’ll learn the production process from a number of different angles and disciplines.

You’ve shot your content – now what?  How do you piece all this hodge-podge of imagery together into a cohesive story?  PPMtv’s Post-Production class will walk you thru preparing your footage for the editing process, importing and storing your footage for use during the edit, creating your timeline and making edit decisions.  We will also discuss the export of your finished project to a flash drive or other storage media.

This class is perfect for the beginner as well as a refresher course for anyone who has encountered issues when working thru edits in the past and needs more guided, hands-on exposure to post-production in order to hone their skills. Participants will work in teams to help enable the cross-pollination of ideas and skills.
